The consignor has asked us to add the following information: All Original Snaphaunse Circa 1550. Examples of this firearm can be found in North Africa & the Middle East Museums emerging sometime before “1517”. The origin of the name “Snaphance”which comes from the “Dutch Snaphaan”which roughly means "pecking rooster" and relates to the shape of the mechanism and its downward-darting action (and also would also explain the name "Cock" for the beak-shaped mechanism which holds the flint). This gun is built like a Battle Ship with unbelievable reinforcements for the barrel & lock. Numerous brass barrel bands secure the 54 cal./ 45 inch barrel in the stock. Complete with original ramrod.

Firearm has not been test fired or inspected by a gunsmith. All firearms and firearm parts are sold “As Is”. We do not clean firearm and recommend a thorough cleaning before use.
