The rest of the serial numbers are mismatched. Wood has been oiled, trigger group is case is hardened. Bore is pitted, but shiny. Has a new style leather sling.
Gun has not been test fired or inspected by a gunsmith. Action works correctly to the best of our knowledge. We do not clean guns and recommend a thorough cleaning before use.

Number (2) Gew-88/14 S Infantry Commission Rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser Made
By the Amberg Arsenal in 1890 This gun was converted by the German Army before
WW1 to accept the new Spitzer bullet and cartridge adopted in 1898, it then saw service
in WW1 with Germany and then later with the Ottoman Empire in Turkey. The gun has
been to the range many times and runs beautifully, the bore is good, the head space
was checked and is within safe specs, the gun is in excellent overall condition being
very original minus the leather strap.

Your items are available for pickup on the Monday following the sale for a period of two weeks. Please email cs@landsboroughauctions.com to make alternate arrangements.

A $5.00 per item per day will be charged on items not picked up beyond the two-week period following our auction.
Shipping Details:
A prerequisite of our auction is to select your preference to pick up or have items shipped. We will honour your selection. Items will be shipped together when possible. Shipping charges are determined after items have been packaged and weighed. There will be $15.00 per package handling charge. Specific items cannot be or will not be shipped (for example black powder or very large or expensive-to-ship items).
All items are sent by Canada Post or Purolator depending on location, size of parcel and regulations.
Items will be insured and a signature required.
We ship ammunition ONLY within Canada. Ammunition and firearms are shipped separately.
Dangerous goods (ammunition, powder, muzzle loading ignition, primers and compressed gases) will be shipped by Purolator. We require a physical address as Purolator does not deliver to P.O. Boxes. Please note we can only use Purolator for ammo and their costs will be more expensive than in the past. Purolator is the only option for shipping ammunition. Insurance cost will be charged and calculated at $2.90 per $100, so $1-$100 is $2.90, $101-$200 is $5.70, $201-$300 is $8.70 and so forth. Costs for shipping are processed on your credit card through the iCollector site.

Auction sales will be charged to Visa or Mastercard. NOTE TO ALL BUYERS: All purchases will be made in CAD (Canadian Dollars) currency. All sales are final at the drop of the hammer. All items purchased by bidders will be charged to their Visa or Mastercard at the conclusion of the auction through the iCollector site. If shipping is required for the purchases, a second charge will occur the day the item has been shipped.

The highest bidder shall be the purchaser and the decision of the auctioneer relating to all matters is final. All sales are final and not subject to conditions with no refunds or exchanges. All merchandise is sold in an 'as is' condition without recourse to the vendor. All goods advertised or displayed are subject to withdrawal prior to sale within the discretion of the auctioneer. The Auctioneer may reject a bid at his discretion without reason or explanation.
In Canada a valid P.A.L. (possession and acquisition license) is required to acquire firearms and ammunition. Firearm registration applies to all restricted and prohibited firearms purchased within Canada. All restricted and prohibited firearms will have their transfer started on auction day. USA and International bidders have sole responsibility for their purchases and a $40.00 administrative fee is applied on all firearms sales. If purchased items cannot be imported, the items will be sold at the next available auction. Consignment commissions are applicable on the resale. Please note that we do not ship ammunition outside Canada.
