Antique carved and engraved powder horn featuring detailed scrimshaw-style map decoration, fitted with a brass spout and applied lever-type charger, together with a turned wooden base plug and carrying strap. The horn shows a deeply curved natural form with engraved geographic and decorative motifs, including place-name and map-style elements, adding strong early military, frontier, or colonial display appeal. Brass nozzle assembly remains attached, and the horn retains its aged wood base and dark patinated strap mounts.

Condition shows honest age and use throughout, including surface wear, darkening, scattered marks, and expected shrinkage or age separation around the wooden base area. The engraved decoration remains a key feature of the piece and presents well for display. A desirable antique powder horn for collectors of black powder accessories, militaria, frontier items, and early North American historical material.
Consignor States powder horn was owned by Matthew Perkins marked 1775 Saratoga Battle.
Very good condition. Part of filler cap trim is broken/missing. There are scratches, scuffs, patina, tarnish. Overall condition is very good for age.
